"The bonfire of the inflatables is a work born from a fictional story. On a beach at night, a group of bored and lost teenagers discovers a cart from a street vendor hidden behind a cabin. While initially, they consider stealing the inflatables present there, they decide, urged by their leader, to burn them in a bonfire. I was thinking about adolescent male violence, the unawareness of the consequences of an action, the arrogance, and the indifference towards others. I wanted to portray an act of ritualized, group violence, but I did not want it to be violence committed against someone, a person, or an animal. Instead, I was interested in the performativity of the act."
