Donata Wenders exhibits works of delicate elegance from a number of different series of black and white photographs, portraits of people in the iridescent light of snow flakes or details of faces and bodies between light and shade, as if wrapped in a veil. The images show people in moments of silence, concentration and reflection, one might say in moments of rest. The artist does not stage her images, but rather pursues them by identifying a specific instant in which the body briefly seems bereft of all the circumstances of time and space.
