OANA FARCAS
Oana Farcas’s narrative pictorial worlds are complex and inscrutable. Dreamy, surreal elements appear repeatedly in her paintings; mysterious objects, disturbing places, unusual actions, furtive postures and gestures both fascinate and disorient the onlooker. At the same time, her paintings, packed with historical and artistic references, are very intimate, or, as the artist herself says, “they’re like intimate narrations taken from artistic references”. Her pictorial representations seduce and fascinate us with their many different facets and their markedly experimental tendency.
